turning wall into dry erase board

I just saw this on HOW magazine, paint that can be used on walls to turn them into dry erase boards. I think this idea is quite innovative and certainly creative. The act of sustainability and conservation has escaped our generation and perhaps something created like this will give everyone more incentive to be more green-friendly.

However, I don't think this is particularly useful in houses...maybe in the rooms of little toddlers or kids that like to draw. There are too many Stepford moms that worry about their perfectly furnished homes. But nevertheless, this would be perfect for people working in the fields of graphic design/advertising...any career with a creative outlet. Instead of buying tons and tons of blackboards, businesses can think ahead and paint their walls with these special paints and an abundance amount of white space will be available for all employees wishing to get their ideas across.

This smart invention is similar to the blackboard paints that sell at Home Depot and etc. But as cool and fun this seems, I don't know how successful it would be. I think if they targeted toward a specific audience, (for example, businesses working in the creative field/teenagers/parents with small children) it would flourish even more. But I definitely see this more as a novelty, something fun to do with the homes, making it quirky and exciting.

  1. I agree this invention is pretty great. With the right research into finding the target audience, its competitors and so on, I believe it could be successfully marketed and make huge sales. There is something invigorating and thrilling about writing on a wall. I think it brings one back to their innocent, childhood state. This gets adrenaline pumping and expansive possibilities of creative outlets. We shall see how it goes!

  2. What a cool idea! Something like this could bring you back to the days of childhood. This would be great for those in an industry that requires creativity to be pumped out on a daily basis. Yes, a target audience is necessary. It may be a little distracting to work surrounded by writing on the walls. Perhaps, this could be useful in classes with small children.

  3. I can see how this idea can work in a workplace (maybe during a business meeting) and it seems really convenient. But I agree that they should be selling it towards a specific audience because, as you said, it won't be useful in all locations.

  4. That is the coolest thing I've ever heard of! That would definitely be ideal for businesses, artists, and maybe even teachers could find use to that. This is definitely creative and innovative, and it is probably eco-friendly too! Also, if more buildings, schools, homes, businesses, etc. started to use these walls, it would also create a bigger market for companies like Crayola, who could probably make markers for those walls for children. Artists could probably even find a way to start businesses decorating homes by personally drawing on the walls of their customers!
